Group registration is also available. Registration deadlines and entry fees are the same as for individual registration.
ENTRY FEE TRANSFER: For an additional EUR 5, runners may opt to transfer their entry to the following year. The transfer may be used only for the current year and no later than the registration deadline (15 September 2027). If you transfer your entry, you cannot collect the race pack.
Changing from a longer to a shorter distance (42 km > 21 km) is free of charge until and including 15 September 2027. To change your distance, contact [email protected]. The difference in entry fee will not be refunded.
Changing from a shorter to a longer distance (21 km > 42 km) is also possible after the entry fee has been paid, until and including 15 September 2027. Make the change and pay the difference via the registration portal: Change of distance from 21 km to 42 km.
After that date, changes can only be made at the race-bib collection desk, subject to payment of the applicable additional fee.
Changing from a longer distance to 10 km is not possible, nor is changing from 10 km to 21 km or 42 km.
Entry fees are non-refundable under all circumstances, including with a medical certificate.
Race packs may be collected only during the EXPO NLB Ljubljana Marathon, upon presentation of the registration confirmation and the registered runner’s ID.

*Runners born in 2007 or earlier may enter the marathon. No exceptions are permitted.
Age limits are set in accordance with the rules of the Athletics Association of Slovenia (AZS) and World Athletics (WA). Any falsification of year of birth will be treated as a rule violation and will result in disqualification. By registering, participants confirm that all information provided is accurate.
THE ROUTE
The course is flat. The race starts on Slovenska cesta and finishes at Kongresni trg. It runs through streets and roads in the city centre and surrounding areas. There are 8 aid stations and 6 water stations along the course.
WARNING: The marathon time limit is 6 hours. Runners whose gross split time at 20 km is slower than 2:45 will be diverted to the finish and classified in the half-marathon results.

Insurance, liability and health
Everyone competes at their own risk. Medical staff will be on duty along the course (at every aid and water station) and at the marathon finish.
Runners are advised to undergo a preventive medical examination within 30 days before the race and obtain confirmation from a doctor that they are healthy and fit to take part.
Awards and money awards
The top three finishers in the overall category receive trophies and medals. After the marathon, all classified runners can print a commemorative certificate showing their finish time at the event venue or from the marathon website.
All marathon finishers also receive a commemorative medal and a T-shirt for completing the 42 km race.
The top five male and female finishers in the marathon overall category receive cash prizes based on their finishing times (bonus/malus). Cash prizes are not cumulative.
Award ceremony
The public award ceremony is held only for the overall men’s and women’s categories.
General rules and conditions
The race is held in accordance with the rules of the Athletics Association of Slovenia/World Athletics and these regulations. The rules are available via this link.
Any breach of the rules will result in the runner’s disqualification.
Runners using a wheelchair or a child stroller participate at their own risk and start from the last starting zone. Running with a dog is not permitted.

The appeals committee accepts written appeals accompanied by a EUR 70 deposit on race day between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. at the secretariat offices at Kongresni trg.
