Klara Lukan meets the World Championships standard with Slovenian record

Slovenian athlete Klara Lukan won third place in the five-kilometer road race in Monaco and improved her previous Slovenian record by 37 seconds with a time of 14:45. What's more: she missed the previous European record, which was held by Dutchwoman Sifan Hassan, by only one second!

In the race in Monaco, first place was won by Ethiopian Likina Amebaw (with a time of 14:33), and second was Dutchwoman Diane Van Es, who also improved the aforementioned European record with a time of 14:39.

With this result, Klara also met the standard for the World Championships, which will be held in Japan in September.
