On the first day of the NLB 28th Ljubljana Marathon, as many as 8,198 young people stood at the start. From preschool runners to high school students who have excelled.
On Sunday, the marathon program continues at 8 a.m. with the Garmin 10 km run, and at 9:00 a.m. runners will take over the streets of Ljubljana for the Heineken 0.0 marathon and the Half Marathon Generali ZAME. The running festival in Ljubljana was opened by the youngest, preschoolers had as many as 1,733 of the youngest runners at the start. 3438 children took part in promotional runs for students from 1st to 5th grade, and 2015 in school runs from 6th to 9th grade. There were 778 high school students who tackled the longest distances. A total of 8,198 young sports enthusiasts on the first day.
On the first day, enthusiastic applause was also received by the participants of the Inclusive Run, there were 134 of them, and around 100 runners at the Golden Ribbon Institute run, children with cancer. The latter ran in gratitude for the collected funds, which the runners donated for their protégé Tinka Tonejc. 10,000 euros will be used for the hearing aid that the young fighter needs. On Sunday, the marathon hustle and bustle continues as usual in the Arena Stožice. Runners who have not yet managed to raise their starting numbers can do so between 6:00 and 8:00. At 8:00 a.m., the Garmin 10 km run will start on the Ajdovščina platform. An hour later, the start of the Heineken 0.0 marathon and the Half Marathon Generali ZAME will take place at the same place.
Runners and volunteers at the NLB 28th Ljubljana Marathon can use the LPP for free tomorrow. From the parking lots of P+R Stožice, EasyparkBarje and Dolgi most, circular rides with special lines of the NLB 28th Ljubljana Marathon will also be organized.
