Weather Forecast for Marathon Weekend in Ljubljana

16. 10. 2026

The weather will be part of the running experience at the NLB 30th Ljubljana Marathon. Check the forecast for Saturday and Sunday and prepare accordingly for race day. Here is the forecast from the Slovenian Environment Agency (ARSO).

The settled autumn weather, with plenty of morning and late-morning fog in low-lying areas, is expected to continue throughout the second half of this week.

Saturday, 17 October: In addition to fog, which in the Ljubljana Basin is expected to clear only after 11 a.m., Slovenia will also see considerable high cloud. Even after the fog clears around midday and in the afternoon, the sun will therefore be less intense than it would be under completely clear skies. Conditions will be calm, with no wind. Morning temperatures in the city are expected to be between 7 and 8°C, rising slowly only after 11 a.m. and reaching around 15°C in the afternoon.

Sunday, 18 October: Conditions are expected to be much the same. Fog will occur in the morning and late morning, and in some places it may lift into a layer of low cloud. The sun is expected to appear sometime between 10 a.m. and noon, bringing slightly warmer afternoon temperatures than on Saturday. A very light southeasterly breeze is expected. Morning temperatures will be around 6–8°C, rising to approximately 17°C in the afternoon.
