To achieve its goals, the Runners4All project will implement various activities. Students will be the primary target group and involved in the implementation. However, experts from various fields will also participate (running coaches, experts in training planning and event organization, medical staff, psychologists, nutrition experts). There will also be many volunteers who will contribute to the successful implementation of the project and the first European Run for Students.

Among the important activities, we can highlight:

  • Partnership cooperation between Timing Ljubljana, the Municipality of Ljubljana, EUSA and all other associated partners.
  • Preparation of educational materials on running, preparation for running training and events, safe participation in training, prevention of injuries and other health risks, nutrition for athletes and the importance of psychological preparation. A special part of the content will also be dedicated to addressing specific target groups and the inclusion of disabled people and people with special needs in public sports events.
  • Selection of student mentors will encourage fellow students, inform them about important content and, together with coaches, organize running training and preparation for a running event.
  • Implementation of the first European Student Run in Ljubljana, on October 19, 2025, as part of the Ljubljana Marathon.
  • Recording data, preparing a collection of materials and communicating the results to the public through an international conference to be held in Ljubljana during the European Student Run.
  • Informing students and other age groups of the population about the importance of regular physical exercise and disseminating the results of the project among students, the general population and organizers of future running events

The development of targeted awareness programs about the importance of exercise and a healthy lifestyle is truly very important. Events such as the Ljubljana Marathon are large-scale sports events that activate numerous children, young people, adults and even seniors. Not only to participate in the competition, but also to exercise regularly, to follow trends, innovations and messages that we want or can convey. These are the main elements of the project and planned activities, as we want to convey the message about the importance of regular physical activity and safe participation in marathons to both students and, of course, the general public. Of course, students represent exceptional potential. They are young and we can teach them about all the highlighted content in a timely manner. On the other hand, we expect that many of the students involved will become regularly active and maintain this activity until late age. They will be able to pass on their experience to their peers, and later to young people. This is especially true for those students which the project may encourage to become qualified and competent running coaches. They even could offer their knowledge and services to other users later.

Partnership cooperation in the project represents an activity through which we ensure the exchange of knowledge and best practices. Both for the development of coaches and competent future experts, as well as for the organizers of running events. On the other hand, with the partner's experience, we are establishing an environment that will be interesting and attractive for students. The number of people involved in the entire campaign will be important and will be a reflection of the results and planning of project activities.
