The Runners4All project encourages residents and particularly the target group – students - to exercise regularly. The main general objectives of the project are:
- to strengthen motivation to develop an attitude and care for health and mental well-being,
- to promote sport and running as an important part of life and leisure activities,
- to use a large-scale international event to promote and encourage participation in sports,
- to draw attention to the importance of safe participation in a running event and appropriate preparation for the competition,
- to promote common European and sports values, and to encourage cooperation, solidarity and intergenerational networking of participants,
- to promote the role of the European Union in co-financing the project and the need for joint lifelong learning.
The Runners4All project offers important opportunities for personal growth (lifelong learning), includes people from different countries, cultures, religions, races and thus promotes the development of important common values, such as tolerance, respect and solidarity. These values are essential for building positive self-esteem, healthy social interactions and promoting the well-being of individuals and communities.
The Runner4All project offers a long-term activity aimed at a target group of students. It encourages them to exercise regularly and gives them the opportunity to participate in the first European Student Run event in different categories and over three distances.
The specific objectives of the project include the following:
- to encourage students to exercise regularly
- to select student mentors who will encourage their colleagues to exercise regularly and inform them about the importance of safe preparation and physical preparation for running competitions
- to organize educational workshops for students
- to organize regular running training that will ensure that students are well prepared for the event in October 2025 in Ljubljana
- to organize the first European student run, which will be a part of the Ljubljana Marathon and all accompanying events of the event in October in Ljubljana, Slovenia
- to obtain information about the run and the project and to collect feedback from participants, which will be of great help in planning further running events that will be held under the auspices of EUSA
- to share the experience and results of the project with the organizers of future running events
- to continuously encourage students and other age groups to exercise regularly and participate safely in running competitions events
We believe that the experiences gained will be of great help to the participating students in planning their activities after their studies. We may even inspire some of them to become professional running coaches.
