The start, finish and service area of the NLB Ljubljana Marathon are located in the city centre, no more than 500 m apart. In this area, only walking is allowed. Entry to the start areas for all races is possible from both sides on Slovenska cesta, between Štefanova ulica, Šubičeva cesta, Trg republike and Prešernova cesta.
BIKE
We will provide a special temporary parking area for bicycles and scooters. This will be marked on Trg republike, between the NLB tower and Maxi shop. The number of parking spaces will be limited, and security will be ensured. You will drop off and pick up your vehicles with your BIB number.
CAR
There are many parking lots in Ljubljana, but be aware that due to the large number of runners and supporters near the centre, they will fill up very quickly. We suggest that you use the P+R parking lots on the outskirts of the city and take the city bus into the city. The schedule and routes of individual buses will be adjusted and changed or shortened. Special vans from the sponsor Volkswagen will also drive from the parking lot along the southern bypass (Center exit) to Križanki.
CITY BUSES
Some city buses will operate on changed routes and schedules on Saturday, 18 October 18 and Sunday, 19 October, 2025, so follow the details on the LPP website.
TRAIN / Intercity BUS
We recommend sustainable transport, which is even cheaper or free during the weekend. The Ljubljana railway and bus stations are no more than a kilometer away from the NLB Ljubljana Marathon venue.
AIRPLANE
Ljubljana Brnik Airport is a 15-minute drive from the city by car, half an hour by bus. Also not far are the following airports: Trieste (an hour and a half drive), Zagreb (an hour and a hallf), Klagenfurt (an hour), Graz (two hours), and Venice (two hours and a half).

The “Sponsorship in Slovenia” programme is a pan-Slovenian programme created under the auspices of the “Anita Ogulin and ZPM” Association in 2010, with the aim of providing children and adolescents from socially disadvantaged backgrounds with an opportunity to develop in a healthy manner and achieve their life goals. Within the programme, each child is allocated a sponsor who contributes at least EUR 30 per month to cover the cost of their basic needs, their school charges or their interest activities. The connection between the sponsor and the child is anonymous, in order to protect personal data and preserve the dignity of a family in need. A family where both parents are employed is also entitled to such assistance, if their modest family benefits are not sufficient for their child to be able to benefit from their childhood and youth on an equal footing with their peers.
